This still-life was a welcome return to 'real' painting for me. I contains al the classical elements of a still life: the skull, the weathered book, and...two lightbulbs. As an extinct species, it can proudly take place in the hallowed ranks of vanitas symbols.
Here's a few lineworks that got a colouring treatment. They're quite spontaneous drawings, as I would start out somewhere with a detail or character and go from there. I tried some unorthodox colouring procedures afterwards.
